This month we have a spotlight on the works of Stanley William Hayter in the featured works section.

We are available to show works at your home with no obligation to buy. So far this has gone very well so please contact us if you would like a home viewing of a work on the website or that you have seen at a fair.

April News, Stock Update and more.

Reader - Mulher De Nazare.jpg

With the spread of the Coronavirus all TSFA fair appearances up until September have been cancelled or re-scheduled. There will be a new list of dates posted as soon as they are available.

New stock is still being added to the website with three works by Ben Nicholson and a new large scale Mary Fedden work.

In the coming weeks we will be releasing our revamped catalogue of contemporary artists works online which will include Patrick Church, Ben Reader (pictured) and Jess Power.

Due to the virus there has been a sharp uptick in online sales via the website. Therefore, as an incentive to those who may have seen a work at an art fair and are on the fence about purchasing we are offering 15% off the ticketed price for all artworks shown at any fair this year prior to the virus. Please contact us for further details.

Featured Works

Every month we will be adding a new work to the ‘Featured Works’ section of the website which is accessible through the ‘Artworks’ section. This will take the form of a mini article/essay on the work and will hopefully provide a bit more insight.

This month we have the fantastic John Nash work - The Brisons, Cape Cornwall.

All four artists’ styles compliment and contrast with one another perfectly.  This show can be seen as a precursor to a larger show that will take place at 44AD in February 2019. This show will also feature Reader, Carins, Power and Samuel along with several other emerging British artists. For further details please contact info@thomasspencerfineart.co.uk

We are pleased to add Jess Power to our growing roster of contemporary artists. Jess is a London born artist who first studied in Bristol and then received a first class honours degree from The University of Brighton. Since graduating she has taken part in national and international residencies.

 In her own words:

‘My practice explores deconstructed forms of language using reactionary, improvised, process lead mark making. I use a symbolic visual language inspired by ancient sculpture, images of metamorphosis and classical content that sits in opposition to the experimental processes of my practice. I hope to provoke a dialogue of conflict between imagery and materiality. By re-contextualising the anthropocentric themes and symbols of art history, I aim to deconstruct notions of “self” and “ego” and in turn explore the naturally chaotic happenings that define our lives, and that therefor define painting.’

Jess’s work will be shown in December at 44AD in Bath along with works by Miranda Carins and Ben Reader. More details on this show to follow in the coming weeks.

In other news we have branched out into a number of 20th century design pieces. At recent shows many visitors have requested to purchase furniture that was brought along as stand decoration but was not for sale. Due to the high number of inquiries we will be selling a limited number of 20th century design pieces - a new section will be added to the website very soon.
